DINING

Globally Local

Most people who have yet to explore veganism in depth probably imagine it to be a world of salads, quinoa and granola. Basically, boring old healthy foods that might be good for digestion, but do nothing for the taste buds. And while that perception was true of vegan food options 20 years ago, the 21st century in particular has taken "plant based" eating to an entirely different level. Take the amazing Globally Local fast food chain that blasted into Toronto in 2019, for instance. Vegan burgers and fries, chicken tenders and wings, ice cream, milkshakes, and more? Yes, please! Think meat, dairy and eggs have a monopoly on comfort food? Think again...
